Judicial Council to meet in Atlanta

Atlanta, GA — The Judicial Council, chaired by Chief Justice Hugh P. Thompson, will meet at the Loudermilk Center in Atlanta on September 13, 2013, to consider requests for new superior court judgeships.

           Members will vote on measures including FY15 budget enhancement requests, adoption of accountability court standards, and nominations to the Board of Court Reporting. The Judicial Council will hear reports from the Policy and Legislative Committee as well as from the appellate courts and trial court councils. 

Several special reports will be delivered on the Judicial Council/Administrative Office of the Courts Strategic Plan, the Next Generation Courts Commission, and using CourTools to enhance Georgia’s courts.

The 26-member Judicial Council of Georgia meets several times a year to act on policy and administrative matters of the judiciary. Judges of the appellate and trial courts at all levels are represented on the Council. For the agenda and meeting materials, please click here.
